The diagnostics of the injection molding process already showed its results in a small number of bad semi-finished products 06:08:2019

Within the framework of the HIDSENZ project, Hidria AET d.o.o and TECOS Slovenian Tool and Die Development Centre are developing a cavity pressure sensor for monitoring the injection molding process of plastic materials.

Within the frame of the IRT 2019 industrial forum in June, we presented the project results, which are related both to testing and validation of the working functionality of the developed cavity pressure sensor prototype, and performance comparison with the existing pressure sensors on a specially developed prototype injection mold. We are satisfied with the current test results, as the diagnostics of the injection molding process already showed its results in a small number of bad semi-finished products, but with further development we expect further improvements.

The key objective of the pressure sensor development is to increase the efficiency of the use of resources in order to reduce electricity and water consumption during processing, reduce the consumption of raw materials and increase the use of recycled materials with the goal of sustainable development.
